Battle of the Radio Streaming Sites

You’re studying, working out at the gym, or sitting at home with friends, what radio outlet are you tuning in to? Is Pandora, Slacker, or Spotify more your speed? If you’re anything like me, you have any of these going at all times. There are very few things I do that don’t involve music in the background. The most annoying thing is if you’re in the middle of studying or working out and you have to stop what you’re doing to change the song. When you use Pandora, Slacker, or Spotify you start them up and don’t look back.

Pandora, Slacker, and Spotify are very similar in uses but have some variations. With Pandora, you sign in and find a station. Your stations are determined by the artist or the song of your choice and Pandora does the rest of the work. They choose songs that are similar to what you chose. With Slacker, you choose a station based of of genre. Some options you have are Today’s hits, Country Radio, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. It would be like if you were to turn on the radio, but with better quality and no dead zones. As far as Spotify, you choose songs and put them on a playlist. You build the playlist and then play them when needed. They are similar in the fact that they all are music players, but they differ in their approach.

Personally, I prefer Pandora over the others. Pandora just seems effortless to me. You just have to choose an artist you like and the rest is up to Pandora. I like to listen to a bunch of different stations because there is always music that I haven’t heard of. Another plus is if you don’t like the song you just thumbs down the song and it never plays on your station again. To me it’s the perfect fit. I’ll probably use Pandora until it’s no longer active. Pandora for the win.
